OSI Laser Diode’s SCW and LCW Series of high-power, single mode (SM, SCW Series) or multi mode (MM, LCW Series) laser modules are designed to meet the specific performance demands of the optical test equipment marketplace.

The high peak optical power LCW / SCW Series laser chips are based on a multiple quantum well structure fabricated by an MOCVD technology and processed into a ridge wave guide device structure. This series’ devices serve 1064 nm through 1650 nm wavelengths and are available in RoHS compliant, fully hermetic laser-welded 2 or 3 pin coaxial, 3 pin TO56 or 14 pin DIP/Butterfly packages.

These packaged lasers can include both TEC and temperature sensing thermistors as well as back facet monitors for superior wavelength stability over a wide temperature range. Standard fiber length for SMF- or MMF-coupled versions is 1 m. Custom packaging and E-O/Environmental screening to Military or Telecordia standards are available.

Excellent output power stability and constant wavelength are features that make OSI LaserDiode’s SCW/LCW Series 1310/1550 nm laser modules ideal for applications such as telecom/datacom and test instrumentation. This series’ devices comprise a Fabry-Perot (F/P) laser chip and a single mode optical fiber (SMF) that are aligned in LDI’s high stability, temperature controlled, low reflection, 14-pin dual-in-line module, with or without TEC and temperature sensing thermistor.

SCW Series 180 mW pulsed high-power, SMF-coupled laser modules are designed to meet the performance demands of the optical test equipment marketplace. These high peak optical power lasers serve 1310 nm through 1650 nm wavelengths and are available in fully hermetic laser welded packages. These packaged lasers can include a thermoelectric cooler (TEC), a temperature sensing thermistor or a back facet monitor for superior wavelength stability over a wide temperature range.

SCW 1006-010R is a 1064 nm CW Al RWG Fabry-Perot (F/P) laser diode module in a 3 pin coaxial package. The laser diode is optically coupled to an Hi-1060 fiber pigtail and includes a BFM. The SCW 1006-010R laser diode module is specifically designed for uncooled fiberoptic applications.

OSI LaserDiode’s SCW 1383R is a 1383 nm pulsed Al RWG distributed feedback (DFB) laser diode module in a 14 pin DIL package. The laser diode is optically coupled to an SMF 28 fiber pigtail and includes a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) and a temperature sensing thermistor. The SCW 1383R laser diode module is specifically designed for OSA/OTDR and other optical test equipment applications where high peak pulsed optical power is desired.

The SCW 1430 Series are 1490 nm high-power pulsed Al RWG Fabry-Perot (F/P) laser diode modules in 14 pin DIL, butterfly or 3 pin TO56 packages. These laser diode modules are specifically designed for OSA/OTDR and other optical test equipment applications where high peak pulsed optical power is desired.

SCW 15C2-100R is a 1550 nm high-power CW Al RWG Fabry-Perot (F/P) laser diode module in a 14 pin butterfly package. The laser diode is optically coupled to an SMF fiber pigtail and includes a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) and a temperature sensing thermistor. The SCW 15C2-100R laser diode module is specifically designed for applications where high levels of optical power are desired.

OSI LaserDiode’s SCW 1536-200R is a 1550 nm high-power pulsed Al RWG Fabry-Perot (F/P) laser diode module in a 2 pin coaxial package. The laser diode is optically coupled to an SMF28 Ultra fiber pigtail.
