Product information "Windowless CMOS Cameras"

1.3 MP; Pixel Size 5.2x5.2 µm; Sensor Size 6.66x5.32 mm; B/W; 12-600 fps; Resolution 8, 10 bit; USB 2.0; No Glass Window; Unbuffered or Buffered; Progressive Scan; Dynamic Range 68 dB

Windowless cameras are particularly useful for applications that are sensitive to multiple reflections due to the existence of the glass window in front of the CMOS sensor. One example of such an application is  beam profiling.

Mightex’s series of windowless monochrome (B/W) USB 2.0 CMOS cameras are designed for a wide variety of applications such as machine vision, digital microscopy and medical imaging, where quality, ease of use, and cost-effectiveness are crucial. With 1.3 MP, a high-speed USB2.0 interface and powerful PC software, these cameras deliver excellent quality images.

Unbuffered 8 bit versions as well as buffered 10 bit versions are available. While unbuffered cameras (MCE-B013) feature frame rates up to 24 fps in full resolution (up to 600 fps using ROI mode) and optional built-in LED drivers, buffered cameras (BTE-B013) have built-in frame buffers, external trigger-in, strobe-out, a powerful camera engine that supports multiple cameras, and frame rates up to 12 fps in full resolution (up to 150 fps using ROI mode).

A user-friendly GUI based application software and an SDK are provided for custom software development. DirectShow driver and a TWAIN driver are also provided in order to easily link the cameras with users’ applications, and for BTE-B013 buffered cameras a USB command set protocol is also provided for non-Windows based applications.

Monochrome cameras often exhibit a 20% higher spatial resolution than their colour counterparts because no pixel interpolation is necessary. Without a Bayer colour filter on the sensor, monochrome cameras are also more sensitive than colour sensors, especially in near IR and UV regions.
