LightComm Technology uses unique fusing technique and polarization maintaining fiber to build its broad range of polarization maintaining (PM) fused couplers/combiners. The coupling ratio and/or wavelength can be selected according to customer’s request.

The devices feature low excess loss, small size and high polarization extinction ratio, high power handling and high isolation. LightComm Technology’s range of PM fused couplers/combiners is widely used for optical sensors, (fiber) optical gyros, optical amplifiers and EDFA.

PMC Series fused PM couplers are available with 1x2, 2x2 and 1x3 ports, including a version with 80 µm fiber for 820 nm. The PMWBC wideband PM couplers allow for an operating wavelength band of ±40 nm. LightComm Technology’s FPC Series fused PM combiners are widely used for EDFA.

LightComm Technology’s PBC series of polarization beam combiners are micro optics devices that can combine two polarized light signals into one output fiber. The typical configuration of PBC uses two PM fibers for input and one SM fiber for output. The PBC series is the ideal choice for application in EDFA, Raman amplifier, pump lasers, high speed communication systems and optical fiber sensors.
