AMS Technologies offers plano-convex cylindrical lenses focusing the beam of light as well as plano-concave lenses for spreading the beam of light. Our portfolio includes also rod lenses as well as doublets and triplets of cylindrical lenses.
We carry cylindrical lenses in dimensions ranging from 2.0 up to 250.0 mm or even bigger on customer request. Available materials are optical glass, quartz glass, Borosilicate glass and colour-filter glass, as well as crystals like Si, Ge, MgF2, CaF2, Sapphire and others.
The cylindrical lenses can be coated for the NIR, VIS and UV range, either for a single wavelength or a spectral area, with anti-reflection (AR) coatings, reflective metallic or dielectric coatings as well as polarizing coatings.
Additionally to the range of standard products, we can provide customized cylindrical lenses on request. Please contact the AMS Technologies optical lens experts to discuss your customized cylindrical lens solution that exactly matches your application’s requirements.
Our portfolio further comprises a variety of lenses for different needs and applications that can be manufactured in diverse materials and customized based on specific requirements: molded glass aspheric lenses, spherical lenses, achromatic lenses.
Since the cylindrically shaped surfaces of a cylindrical lens are curved in one single direction, the cylindrical lens refracts light in only one dimension – focusing the light on a straight focal line by a converging lens instead of on a focal point as in a spherical lens. Typical applications for cylindrical lenses are beam shaping (creating a beam focus of elliptical form) in laboratory set-ups for areas like laser projection or holography.
Rod lenses are cylindrical in shape, with the surface of the cylinder wall polished. Like cylindrical lenses, rod lenses are suitable for focusing light onto a line. Doublets and triplets of cylindrical lenses allow focusing polychromatic light in a single direction with minimum chromatic aberration.
Moreover, we carry a broad range of complementary products such as fiber collimators and focusers, lens holders and lens positioners as well as MWIR or LWIR thermal imaging assemblies.
