Test and Measurement for Optical Fibers, Connectors and Other Fiber Components
Any type of fiber optic interconnection requires its interfaces to be free of dust and scratches in order to reach the lowest transmission loss. Small, handheld and battery-powered fiber microscopes are available from AMS Technologies for inspection of fiber optic connectors in the field, as well as high-resolution type microscopes suitable for use in a production environment for qualifying the end face preparation.
Small and lightweight test equipment for measurement of the transmitted power in an optical fiber is needed wherever technicians handle optical fibers. Our product portfolio comprises light sources for various wavelengths, optical power meters for the visible and infrared as well as optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs) for easy fault detection within a fiber optic link.
Our interferometers for single-fiber and multifiber connectors are important tools for quality control of connectors and other applications. Used for contactless measurement of the geometry of the connector’s polished end face in three dimensions, these instruments provide results regarding properties like ferrule and fiber radius of curvature, apex offset, fiber height and others.

AMS Technologies' broad range of beam profilers includes various devices for beam analysis, beam position detection and control, and the precise alignment of the beam to a target point.
Our integrating spheres are used to create diffuse light radiation from directional light radiation or to collect the radiation of strongly divergent light sources. We carry general-purpose integrating spheres with a choice of diameters, port numbers reflectance materials or coatings, as well as general purpose starter kits, conveniently pre-packaged with the most common port accessories, adaptors, and integrating sphere mounting components.
Diffuse reflectance targets and standards are available from AMS Technologies with reflectance values of 2% to 99% over wavelength spectra as wide as 250 nm to 2500 nm. Reflective areas range from 31.75 mm diameter all the way up to 1.2 m x 2.4 m.
