Product Portfolio
AMS Technologies offers a variety of fiber components, such as fiber optic power monitors, fiber stretchers and phase shifters, fiber optic shutters and reflectors, fiber terminators, de-specklers, a delivery system for flow visualization, but also glass solder preforms or fused silica capillary tubing.

The miniature optical power monitors consist of a single mode (SM) optical fiber with micro-tap and a PIN photodiode in a single, compact coaxial package, available as (optionally also ) or . An additional series of single-channel optical power monitors features single mode (SM) or polarization maintaining (PM) fibers.

Instead of using a conventional fused coupler to tap a fraction of light into another fiber, the series of directional fiber optic power monitors directs a controlled amount of light from the fiber core to the cladding surface where it can be directly monitored with high efficiency and very low loss – without affecting the original functionality.

AMS Technologies carries fiber stretchers based on piezoelectric elements, including fiber stretcher series for high speed and fiber lengths up to 17 mmid-range (15 to 30 m fiber lengths) and high efficiency (fiber lengths 40 to 82 m) as well as a fiber stretcher with four independent piezo elements, allowing either high resolution or large stroke.

Three series of phase shifters provided by AMS Technologies feature an all-fiber construction with low insertion loss and back reflection. The phase shifters are available with up to 20 kHz modulation frequency, allowing maximum phase shifts of 15π or >65π, as well as with 60 kHz maximum modulation frequency and >55π phase shifts.

Safety in applications with high optical power is the domain of our series of fiber optic shutters that can also incorporate additional beam dumps and/or heat sinks to safely absorb the blocked laser power. Fiber optic reflectors are available as pigtail style as well as receptacle style devices, reflecting the light emerging from a fiber back in the reverse direction, while the series of fiber terminators in various optical connector form factors can be easily installed into panel mount receptacles to significantly reduce unwanted reflections from the fiber face.

A proprietary, small and compact de-speckler technology is available, averaging the modal noise within an optical fiber that would otherwise interfere with optimal performance. This reduction in speckle is an ideal choice for fiber assemblies used in various applications.

The fiber optic delivery system for flow visualization generates a line of visible laser light which is shone through the flowing liquid under inspection, enabling to visually observe any particulate matter present or changes to the flow pattern within the fluid.

Glass solder preforms are available, designed specifically for hermetic sealing of optical fibers in optoelectronic and all optical packaging, bonding directly to glass and metal surfaces. The series of fused silica capillary tubing, coated with polyimide for mechanical stability and available with a wide range of internal and external diameters, is used for micro-fluidics applications and in gas chromatography (GC) separation columns.
