SensLine Series: High-Performance Spectroscopy

The SensLine series from Avantes is designed for high-performance spectroscopy applications such as fluorescence, luminescence, and Raman. This product range includes several high-sensitivity, low-noise spectrometers, featuring back-thinned detector technology and high-performance, thermoelectrically cooled detectors. Other models use standard CCDs, upgraded with Avantes’ unique cooling technology. The back-thinned CCD detectors in the SensLine series offer high quantum efficiency and excellent response across the ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared range (200 to 1160 nm).

All AvaSpec SensLine instruments integrate fully with Avantes’ modular platform, functioning as standalone or multi-channel instruments. They are compatible with other spectrometer devices in the SensLine and NIRLine series. Each instrument is available as a lab instrument or an OEM module for system integration.

AvaSpec-HERO: High-Resolution and High Sensitivity

The AvaSpec-HERO combines high resolution and high sensitivity without compromise. Built around the High-Sensitivity, Compact (HSC) 100mm optical bench with a NA of 0.13 and a cooled, back-thinned detector (1024×58 pixels), it uses the latest AS7010 board for excellent noise performance and high-speed communication through USB 3.0 and Ethernet. This combination ensures an ideal balance between sensitivity and resolution, suitable for low-light applications with perfect signal-to-noise performance. The AvaSpec-HERO supports replaceable slits for optimum flexibility in various applications.

AvaSpec-ULS2048x64TEC-EVO: Enhanced SensLine Spectrometer

The AvaSpec-ULS2048x64TEC-EVO is an updated version of the AvaSpec-ULS2048x64TEC spectrometer, featuring improved electronics and cooling. It enhances the SensLine series with a cooled, back-thinned detector, offering high sensitivity in the UV and IR regions. The 64-pixel height (0.89 mm) captures more photons, while the cooling allows for long integration times (up to 120 seconds) with low noise levels. The Peltier cooling device reduces the CCD chip temperature to -30°C, improving the dark baseline and PRNU level, and reducing dark noise by a factor of 2-3. This instrument is ideal for low-light applications like fluorescence or low-light Raman measurements, with a replaceable slit for various applications.

AvaSpec-HS2048XL-EVO: High-Sensitivity Spectrometer

The AvaSpec-HS2048XL-EVO is perfect for high-sensitivity applications where high resolution is not critical. Featuring the HS optical bench with a 0.22 numerical aperture for superior throughput, it has a back-thinned CCD detector with 2048 pixels (14×500 microns). The AS-7010 electronics board offers USB3 (10 times faster than USB2), Gigabit Ethernet, and better signal processing.

AvaSpec-ULS2048x64-EVO: Uncooled Spectrometer

The AvaSpec-ULS2048x64-EVO is an uncooled version of the AvaSpec-ULS2048x64TEC-EVO, ideal for less demanding applications in the UV and NIR ranges. It features a standard 2048×64 back-thinned detector, suitable for applications requiring integration times under 2 seconds. This spectrometer is widely used in DOAS applications due to its high UV response and 0.9mm detector height. Options include an order-sorting filter to reduce second-order effects and purge ports for deep-UV measurements. It comes with various slit sizes, gratings, and fiber-optic entrance connectors (SMA or FC/PC). The AS-7010 electronics board provides USB3, Gigabit Ethernet, and improved signal processing.

Sometimes a single channel spectrometer is not enough, for example when you want higher resolution or to perform two redundant measurements at the same time.
